Some frequently asked questions:

Q: Why is the packaging so plain?
A: I decided that keeping the packaging plain creates less waste which equals less rubbish and therefore keeps costs down and is good for the worlds future.
Sure the supermarket packaging looks fabulous (but does the meal ever look as good as the photo?) and once you eat your meal the packaging goes in the bin. Pub Grubs plain packaging is 98% recyclable.
Q: Why don't you always have all your stock list available?
A: I want to keep things small and produce a quality product to provide the Kerikeri area. I don't want to employ anyone so  when I make a recipe that I can be proud of it is made in small quantities. Maybe once I get more practice I will get better at guessing how much of one recipe to make but until then it is hit and miss.... call me to see what is available.
Q: Why are there so many spelling mistakes on the website and packaging?
A: I would love to tell you it was someone else's fault but that is not the case. I was born in the 60's and dyslexia was unheard of... so I struggle with words AND numbers!! If you come and pick up food you will notice I always ask the client to add up the bill, I am hopeless so please do double check everything (fortunately for you I most often make the mistake of charging to little!).
Q: Can we have more variety?
A: Great comment... short answer is yes.. long answer is when.
It takes about 6 months to master a recipe that I like. Freezing meals is not as straight forward as you think. There are so many variables.
I want to do more, and I will but it is just a matter of time.
The Pub Grub business is a part time venture at the moment so hard to make things happen quickly.

what some people have to say about the food

"I was born and breed in Leicestershire, UK. Home of the Melton Mowbrey pork pie.
Over the years I have bought and tried many contenders claiming to be an authentic pork pie, till now all fell well short of the bar!

Mikeys pork pies are the real deal, great crisp pastry, perfect filling" GJ
Hi Alexa, tried one of your pasties at the Kerikeri market today, loved it, best I've had outside UK! Bought more for dinner tonight & just eaten them (with a glass of red wine!) and they didn't disappoint, well done, I would recommend them to everyone!! Only wish I was local to have them regularly!
Good enough reason to move here!
We were at the movies last night and recognised you and your ad.
Sandy’s smart son Josh from www.joshtreestuff.com  did that for us.

R said it was the yummiest pork pie he had ever had in New Zealand.  He said the pastry was the closest to a Melton Mowbray pork pie,  which are R’s very favourite ones when we visit the UK!  The smell was delicious when I cut it in half.  I had hoped for a bite, but it vanished rather quickly with no offer of sharing!!
Too bad you missed out but glad he liked it.
